In some cases, you may be able to hold out until you can get in to see your dentist to have the tooth fixed, but there are those times when this isn’t an option and you need tooth pain relief FAST.
Toothaches can happen anywhere without any warning and they can range from shooting pains to a dull throbbing that lasts for hours. For those times when you have a toothache and a visit to the dentist is days away, there are some toothache remedies that you can try to make yourself feel a little bit better. Ice Massage the Hand: Yes, using ice really helps. If you gently rub an ice cube between the thumb and the forefinger on your hand, you will ease your toothache pain by numbing the pain impulses that travel along the nerve. If you can deal with it, place an ice cube directly on the aching tooth can also numb the pain 60%-90% of the time.
Garlic: Placing a clove of garlic along with some rock salt on the affected tooth can also help relieve or completely take away your toothache pain.
Onion: Because onions contain antibacterial properties, placing a piece of onion on the affected tooth or chewing an onion thoroughly can help ease your toothache pain by killing any bacteria that is in the mouth.
Wheat Grass: Making a juice from wheat grass and using as a mouth rinse is another way to alleviate your toothache pain. Wheat grass has been found to remove toxins and bacteria from the gums.
Asafoetida: This is an element that is found in the roots of several plants from the parsley family and has been found to immediately take away any toothache pain you may have.
Trying any of the above home remedies is a good way to find some toothache pain relief before you can get into the dental office. Only a dentist can find the reason behind a toothache and repair whatever damage is causing your pain.
